Community Service Learning Students in grades 9-12 may participate in voluntary assignments and activities to serve organizations as well as individuals in the community. Students who complete a minimum of 80 hours of community service during grades 9-12 will receive the Community Service Learning seal on their diploma and transcript notation.
Life Ready Learning Update
Starting Quarter 2, Hermitage High School will transition to the new Life Ready Learning reporting form, allowing students to log a wider range of real-world experiences — from community service to leadership, civic engagement, and work-based learning. All previously approved hours still count toward the 80-hour requirement for the HCPS Life Ready Learning Diploma Seal.
This shift ensures students are recognized for building the durable skills that matter most beyond the classroom. This new system, which will take effect across HCPS, is similar to the old community service log and diploma seal system, but now better matches the mission of HCPS.
You can read more details in this 1-pager and/or this document outlining the new guidelines.
