What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is copying another person's ideas, words or writing and pretending that they are one's own work

What is Paraphrasing?

Paraphrasing is taking what someone else has written or said and putting it into your own words. Remember, authors want credit for their work, and paraphrasing is how you can use information from another source in your own work.

Steps for Paraphrasing Success!

  1. Read the text

  2. Record key words/ideas

  3. Retell the idea in your own words

  4. Site your sources
