Information Sessions:
The county will host several information sessions for parents and students to learn more about the different specialty center programs and the application process.
Information Sessions will be held on Saturday, September 21 at Highland Spring High School from 10:00-2:00 and at Tucker High School on September 26. Join us to learn more about the Center for Spanish Language and Global Citizenship.
Open House: The Center for Spanish Language and Global Citizenship will hold OPEN HOUSE on Wednesday October 30 at 7:00 PM. We will begin in the NEW Tucker High School auditorium. You can enter through the bus loop doors.
Prospective students and parents are invited to hear from current students, faculty members and parents about the Center for Spanish Language and Global Citizenship. There will be a time of question and answer for students and parents as they make their decision to apply to the Center for Spanish Language and Global Citizenship.
Application
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be available on September 30. Parent Portal and waiver forms can be found online beginning September 23, 2024.
Application deadline will be November 15, 2024 at 11:59PM
Students will be provided application status/acceptance on February 14, 2025
Shadowing
The Center for Spanish Language and Global Citizenship will offer shadowing opportunities for prospective students to come and walk with another Center student throughout the day to all classes. The window of opportunity to shadow will be from October through January. The sign up list will be made available after OPEN HOUSE on October 30, 2024. Entrance Exam
Students who are applying to the Center for Spanish Language and Global Citizenship are expected to complete an entrance exam in Spanish. The exam will take place on Saturday January 11, 2025 at 9:00 AM. The exam will be held on the campus at JR Tucker High School. The test will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Students should bring a #2 pencil. It is a multiple choice exam that includes listening and reading comprehension, basic vocabulary and grammar along with 2 essays - one in Spanish, the other in English. There will be an informal speaking prompt.
