We’re proud to shine the spotlight on our incredible AutoBody program for the successful completion of a rare 1966 Chevrolet Corvair restoration! This project has been a true test of skill, patience, and craftsmanship—and our students rose to the occasion in every way.
Both Year 1 and Year 2 students played essential roles in bringing this classic vehicle back to life, and their teamwork, dedication, and attention to detail have been nothing short of phenomenal. From precision bodywork to the final touches, the students handled every challenge with professionalism and pride.
We’re excited to share that the vehicle will be delivered to its owner this upcoming week, marking the final chapter in this unforgettable project.

Cosmetology students competed in Cosmetology, Fantasy Manikin, Natural Hair Braiding, Total Fantasy Design, and Nail Technology at State SkillsUSA in Roanoke, Virginia April 4-6, 2025. Laila Upshur took the bronze medal in Nail Care Technology. The students thoroughly enjoyed this amazing experience!

ECE students practice performing brain breaks, a skill we often utilize in the preschool classroom.
Automotive Technology I students have been working on valve cover gaskets and replacing struts/shocks. Most recently they replaced gaskets on a Honda Odyssey and struts/shocks on a Honda Civic.
The Auto Body Repair & Refinishing students at showcased their exceptional skills and dedication at the recent SkillsUSA District Competition. Both first-year and second-year students demonstrated their talent in damage analysis, metal repair, refinishing, and professionalism, making our program proud. A huge congratulations to our top-performing students who placed 1st and 2nd in their categories, earning them a spot at the State SkillsUSA Competition in Roanoke! Their hard work, commitment, and passion for the trade truly set them apart.

Our Auto Body Repair and Refinishing Program took center stage at the 2025 Career and Technical Education Career Rodeo Skills Challenge! The Auto Body seniors demonstrated their talent, precision, and craftsmanship in front of potential employers during this exciting event.

GRASP serves to help students and families navigate the financial aid maze for post-high school plans. I am here one day a week for in-person meetings but also available virtually if that suits a student/family best. ECE II students involved in Educators Rising are busy preparing for the preschool Winter Social. They have created games, crafts, and so much more for our little ones to enjoy!
First-year auto body students are diving into one of the fundamental skills of the trade: stripping surfaces to bare metal. This task is crucial for ensuring a clean, smooth surface before any repairs, priming, or painting can begin. Everyone did an amazing job!!
Auto Tech II students recently visited Carter Myers Colonial Subaru for a shadowing event and Auto Tech I students learned about opportunties within the State Police to use their technical skills in the State Police Automotive Shops.
Cosmetology II students have started servicing clients. We offer many services including manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, and a variety of hair services.

Congratulations to all of our dual enrollment students!!! We currently have close to 150 students who are earning high school and college credit through Reynolds Community College. What a great way to start your college experience while attending Highland Springs ACE Center! Go Red Hawks!!!
The ECE II students got first-hand experience practicing safety skills and procedures outside the classroom while chaperoning the Springer Preschool students to the pumpkin patch. Everyone had so much fun!

We are excited to celebrate two talented students from our Auto Body 2 program who recently competed in the collision repair competition at the Virginia State Fair. One studnet earned an impressive 2nd place among 16 contestants. His exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail set him apart, showcasing his skills in vehicle restoration. Our other student finished in 8th place. His innovative approach and problem-solving abilities highlighted his dedication to the craft and his potential for growth in the field.
Cosmetology II students took 1st place in the State Fair SkillsUSA Cosmetology Manikin Comb Out Competition and won 2nd place in the Natural Hair Design and Braids competition.
Hanover Regional Governor’s School Career and Technical Advancement Summer Program selected four ACE@HS students. It is a FREE summer 10-day residential program (July 11- July 20, 2024). Students participate in entrepreneurial skill development, participate in field trips, team building activities, and meet industry leaders who come to speak with the students.

Auto Tech students have been putting their skills to the test with a variety of challenging diagnostic and electrical tasks.... we worked on a 2010 Nissan Sentra with no power, a 2010 Lincoln MKS overheating issue, 2002 Lexus SC with no run issue and a variety of front brake jobs/alignments
In our autobody workshop, students dive into the art of auto repair by mastering various sanding techniques with sanding blocks. This hands-on experience not only builds their technical skills but also fosters patience and precision, essential qualities for future automotive enthusiasts.
