The Academy at Hendrick Hudson feels very strongly that no student should use substances or alcohol during the school day or during any school activity.  Furthermore, our community understands that using drugs or alcohol in school hurts the individual in their quest toward learning, as well as the credibility of the institution.  Despite this being a school that prides itself on support and connection, the community has developed a substance use pledge that results in a student’s immediate removal from The Academy after the first violation.  Students and parents/guardians are asked to sign the pledge.  Students who refuse will be requested to meet with the faculty and their parents/guardians to discuss why they chose not to sign.
