FAQ answered by our West Yorkshire Travel liaison:

Q: What happens if I have not been able to meet the 26th June deadline?

A: We will carry on accepting forms after the deadline. It is important that new students apply as soon as possible so we can issue passes.

Q: What pass do students need to get half price fare? What is the difference between the under 16 photocard and the priority pass?

A: The half fare pass isn’t needed on the school buses if students are wearing school uniform as they will automatically get half fare. The priority pass is a place on a school bus that requires one. Look on the WYMetro website under the school and it tells you which services you need this pass for as it shows a purple symbol.

Q: Are the dedicated school buses just to Ryhill? What if students live in South Elmsall or South Kirkby?

A: Parents need to look under the school on our website to see all school services/routes if there is no school bus please ring our metroline on 0113 2457676.

Q: The online application says students need a passport to prove ID, what if my child doesn't have one?

A: Verification of identity must be through a passport or a travel centre with a birth certificate.

Bicyles and Scooters

If your child would like to cycle or use a scooter for travelling to and from the Academy they can store their bicycle in our storage area at the side of reception. If students would like to use this facility they must also bring a locking device as the Academy do not accept responsibility for items left in this area.

Travel by Car

Any parent/carer wishing to drop off or collect students from the Academy should park in the identified bays in the car park outside of reception. Please note a one way system is in operation and no parking is allowed adjacent to the fencing as each of the buses are allocated a space for students to alight the vehicle.
