Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How is the information about my child's needs and strategies for best practice communicated to teachers?

A. All students who are on the SEN register will have a One Page Profile. This will provide all staff with information to support and inform teaching in the classroom.

Q. My child finds it difficult to manage unstructured time, social situations and noise such as break and lunch times. Are there activities in place/classrooms open with staff supervision for them to go?

A. The Bridge is a safe space that can be accessed during these times.

Q. My child had a Support Me To Learn Plan or a My Support Plan in primary school - will these carry on and will parents be involved?

A. All support plans will be reviewed when students start with us. We will, of course, always makes sure that parents/carers are involved in any reviews that are conducted. As a parent/carer you play a crucial role in supporting your child and it is vital we work in partnership.

Q. My child has a medical condition, how is this managed at the Academy?

A. We will ask you to fill out a health care plan and discuss the details with a member of the Inclusion team. We will put provision in place to support within the guidelines of the Academy policy.
