Helga is looking for student representatives

Would you like to influence the study environment? Would you like to make the change? Helga offers an excellent opportunity now! We are looking for student representatives.

Please notice that the meetings are mainly in Finnish, and therefore your language skills in Finnish should be at least at average level. If you are interested, please fill in the application form until 22 October 2020 at 15:59 for Hoas delegation and until 24 November 2020 at 15:59 for Haaga-Helia administration: https://opku.lime-forms.se/forms/9FwP4N83rsHkNYwYKN8k. One can also apply in the representative council meeting during the council representatives discuss the matter.

The council of representatives of Helga will elect the student representatives for Hoas delegation in their meeting on 22 October 2020, for Haaga-Helia administration on 24 November 2020 and in other meetings if necessary. Decisions will be informed via official channels of the Student Union. The applicants are informed directly as well as Haaga-Helia.

In case there are not enough applicants the application period can be extended. Yet you should apply within the original application period to make sure your application arrives in time.

It is desirable to be able to engage for the whole 1-year or 2-year term.

Collegiate Body

The Collegiate Body for example modifies The Degree Regulations of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and handles requests for rectification. It is led by President Teemu Kokko.

One (1) member and one deputy. 2-year term starting on 1 January 2021.

Board of Haaga-Helia

The Board of Haaga-Helia is responsible for the administration of the University of Applied Sciences. It is the best position to offer a great view for all Haaga-Helia operations.

One (1) member, no deputy. 2-year term starting from the next general meeting / annual general meeting of spring 2021.

Restaurant Committee

The Restaurant Committee has an informative role but no power for the contract between Kiinteistö Oy Opetustalo and restaurant entrepreneur. The Committee is a cooperative organ between Opetustalo, restaurant and bistro as well as the students and Haaga-Helia staff.

Four (4) members, no deputies. 1-year term starting on 1 January 2021.

Examination Committee

The Examination Committee handles complaints made by students about study related issues.

One (1) member and one deputy. 2-year term starting on 1 January 2021.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee handles scholarship applications etc.

One (1) member, no deputy. For now starting on 1 January 2021.

Election Committee

Organ of the Student Union. The Committee oversees the election procedures of the Student Union. It also accepts the candidates and validates the result. You must be a member of Helga.

One (1) chairperson and two (2) to ten (10) members, no deputies. 1-year term starting on 1 January 2019

HOAS delegation

The delegation is a governing body of the HOAS foundation, which can appoint up to three members to the foundation’s board of directors and choose at least one auditor to audit the foundation’s administration and accounts for the following year.

One (1) member and one deputy. 2-year term starting on 1 January 2021.
