Foundations of Coaching: Empowering Instructional Leaders
Coaching is a conversation. But what makes it so powerful is that it is a managed conversation, and your role is to manage it in the best interest of the coachee. From that perspective, it makes sense for educational leaders, administrators, coaches, mentors, and teachers to have a framework that acts as a kind of scaffold for the conversation. In this course, instructional leaders will explore the core principles of coaching. Participants will delve into three key elements of effective coaching practice and apply various coaching approaches to create meaningful impacts in diverse conversational settings. They will also learn about the GROWTH framework and goal-setting while discovering the Coaching Way of Being through heightened self-awareness.
Through this course, participants will have the opportunity to practice and refine essential coaching skills tailored specifically to adult learners. They will focus on active listening, concise paraphrasing, and strategic questioning techniques to improve their abilities to promote understanding, clarify concepts, and encourage reflective thinking among adult learners.
