The Grade 12 Art Show took place during exam week in the Studio Theatre. The show was originally supposed to happen prior to exams, however it had to be postponed due to a snow storm. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity for the Grade 12 Visual Arts students to show off the artwork they had created over the semester.
Many students showcased their fantastic pieces of all different mediums: including paintings, sketches, dioramas, books, collages, and more. Some of the art was light and fun, while others were much more personal and reflective of deeper meanings for the artist.
William Snyder, a grade 12 student, had great things to say about “The Grand Pepper” piece: “My favourite piece that I displayed in the grade 12 art show was 'The Grand Pepper.' It was made with pastel. I loved the whole process. The art show was very delightful. I had very talented classmates, and to see what they produced was very inspiring. All of my peers have the talent to make a future in the art scene.”
Overall, the Grade 12 Art Show was a creative and inspiring ending to a busy semester; it was a rewarding opportunity for students to be able to display their hard work and talent among their peers.
