Wednesday, April 12th, during Period 1, was the TAB ELL students’ very own book launch! Finding Myself Far From Home can now be purchased from School Cash Online for only $12, with all proceeds going to the Angel Fund, Halton; a nonprofit organization set on researching further into Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In this brand new book, readers will be introduced to whole new experiences and stories that have been lived by Blakelock’s very own students.
Much fun was had during the book launch as individuals from all grades attended to support our ELL students in their incredible achievement. The event was a success and complete with snacks such as cookies, fruit, and coffee.
Madeleine Homer, an attendee of the book launch, recounted the event:
“The [ELL students] took turns reading out different parts of the book. They had each written a different page relating to their own experiences moving to Canada. Everyone was really excited to learn about others’ cultures and see what other students had created.”
Overall, the LLC was full of life and excitement. Congratulations, Tigers.
