On Wednesday, May 25th, Blakelock hosted this year's Spring Bash! It was a fun fair-like event that took place on the football field & track and was organized by the student council. Special shoutout to the event organizer and TAB student Karen Schwab! Blakelock's feeder schools attended the bash in order to get familiarized with the clubs at TAB and the overall school spirit! The event featured booths from various teams and clubs, bouncy castles as well as inflatables. There were also burgers, snacks, live music, and - the biggest hit of all - a BeaverTails food truck!

“It was a really fun event. I think all the staff and students had a great time and could see how amazing our school is. It was windy but nothing was blown away…except the grade 8s’ minds,” said Ms. Turnbull.

Before the event began at 11:30 am, clubs and teams began to set up their booths around the track. Each table was decked out according to its respective club. The booths also included interactive games and activities to get students interested in the club. Members of the TABloid organized a bookmark decorating craft. The purpose of the booths is to help the feeder school students explore activities that interest them, and come grade 9, they can join them!
Food and drinks were a big hit at the Spring Bash. There were long lineups at the barbecue that was hosted by the Business Leadership class, which offered burgers, chips, and drinks. The line at the BBQ couldn’t have been longer than the one at the BeaverTails food truck. Large groups of students waited eagerly to get their hands on some delicious pastries!
The bash also included some great live music performed by TAB's own DJ Hayden Gelsheimer, as well as the concert band.

Spring Bash was a great success. It was amazing to see the TAB community so lively and all together again after the ups and downs of the past two years. Overall, staff and students looked to be having a fun time, and it was a great opportunity for feeder schools to acquaint themselves with their fantastic future high school!
