For the first time in TAB history, the girl’s rugby team has made it to the nationals! In total, they played three games, and won the last in a landslide. Nina Werneck, a grade 10 wing player, commented on the final match.
“It was really fun. It was a really good game. We won, absolutely destroyed them [the other team].”
Before the final game began, the girls huddled around a Tiger’s Eye stone, which symbolizes good luck and team spirit, and recited the “house chant.”
“It was freaking awesome,” says Ms. McAllan, who coached the team.
The team played in the sweltering heat, and even though they didn’t win the tournament, they still received hoodies. Congratulations to the girl’s rugby team for their outstanding performance on the pitch!
