There are three reporting periods during a school year. First, a Progress Report (the "snapshot"), followed by the Term 1 and Term 2 Report Cards.
As students transition from Grade 6 to 7, letter grades are no longer used on report cards, rather, percentage marks are provided.
The Halton District School Board has had predetermined percentage marks for grade 7 & 8 students for many years. The reasoning behind this is to help bridge the gap of understanding between letter marks assigned in grade 6 to percentage marks in grade 7. These marks were developed to assist with students moving schools within Halton, to keep assessment and evaluation more consistent.
Please note that other percentages not listed below would only be calculated from an assignment marked out of something (e.g., test, quiz).
