Introduction

This  Computer Science GCSE qualification consists of two externally-examined components.

Practical Programming

GCSE Computer Science students will be given the opportunity to undertake many programming task(s), either to a specification or to solve a problem(s), during their course of study. Students may draw on some of the content in both components when engaged in Practical Programming.

Students will be using Python 3, a text based programming language that is easy to use and used in academia and industry.

Students should be proactive in undertaking programming projects at home to broaden the knowledge and understanding in coding concepts,

Seneca.com - covers all 6 topics found in Paper 1: Computer Systems and the five topics found in  Paper 2: Computational Thinking, algorithms.

Past Examination Papers

Past papers provide excellent opportunities to practice and hone your skills. It is important that you are able to use the skills and knowledge that you develop in class to unseen problems. In an exam paper you won't be told the specific skills or piece of knowledge you require so by practising you develop the examination skills to successfully answer the questions, covering Paper 1: Principles of Computer Science and Paper 2: Application of Computational Thinking exams.
