Students in Ohio are required to take a series of exams throughout high school as part of Ohio's graduation requirements.
The ACT will be taken during the school day in the Spring of junior year.
Students are recommended to take the ACT 2-4 times. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch can request fee waivers to pay for up to 2 additional tests.
The SAT should be taken upon completion of Algebra II or when a student has almost completed Algebra II.
The SAT or ACT will be accepted by colleges. A student may want to try both tests to determine which fits them best.
AP tests are given in May of every year upon completion of an AP course.
AP results are available to students in July.
United States Military Personnel come to Hamilton High School each year to administer the ASVAB career exploration test to interested students. The ASVAB test is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test in the world and helps students identify a range of skills and abilities. Students may use the results of the test to investigate occupations in line with their interests and skills.
