Special Permission

Special Permission allows a student to attend a school other than the school that is assigned by the residential address within the district where his or her parents reside.  Click Here to view school assignments by address within the Hamilton City School District.

Special Permission 2024-2025 (Current School Year)

If you want your child to attend a school other than the one assigned to you, applying for Special Permission before May 31st is essential. The 2024-2025 School Year applications will be open from April 1st, 2024, through May 31st, 2024.  Please Click Here to apply for Special Permission within the Hamilton City School District. Remember, all applications must be submitted online; proof of residency is mandatory.  Please note that even if you have been previously granted Special Permission, you must reapply yearly.

Special Permission 2023-2024  (THIS SCHOOL YEAR)

Hamilton City Schools is no longer accepting 2022-2023 applications for Special Permission, as they were due by May 31st.  However, we will consider applications for special circumstances, such as students who are currently enrolled and have moved out of the attendance zone of their current school (but still reside in the District). To apply for Special Permission for the remainder of this school year, please email us at studentservices@hcsdoh.org, and we will send you a link to apply.
