Who is Mrs. Kelly?
I'm so glad you asked! I am your Student Advocate for the Winnemucca Junior High School. I am here to advocate for our students, provide short-term counseling, provide resources, and support all of our students!
I am a northern Nevada native – born and raised in Winnemucca! I am so beyond excited for this opportunity to work with you all and give back to our community. I am a big advocate of celebrating small successes, supporting one another, and creating an environment that promotes safe and open communication with one another.
What can I do to support you?
I am here to support each of you throughout this school year – I will be working with our students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and community agencies to ensure that we have the supports in place to provide individualized social support services.
Services Offered:
Collaboration with WJHS School Counselor to provide schoolwide social-emotional lessons
Small groups
Individual short-term social support
Referrals for outside counseling
Parent and Student Resources
Identifying barriers that may be hindering your (your student’s) education and/or assisting in connecting to local resources to ensure your basic needs (food, shelter, clothing) are being met
