1. Provide many opportunities for writing at home.
2. Keep crayons, pencils, pens, and other writing tools available.
3. Respond to your child's writing by giving positive comments and asking questions for clarification.
4. Make writing fun (i.e. using writing while cooking, sending thank you notes, making list of things to do, writing letters and typing emails).
5. Find creative places for your child to write independently.
