Encouraging and building your child's love of reading is one of the most important things you can do. Reading is at the heart of all learning and children who are readers enjoy learning.

Great Ideas for Parents to Help Reinforce Reading at Home

1. Encourage your child to read at least 30 minutes every day.

2. Make reading fun and easy by putting books in easy reach.

3. Set aside time every week to visit your local library.

4. Read aloud to your child on a daily bases.

5. Look for unusual places for your at home reading time.

6. Squeeze time for reading into your busy day. Be creative.

7. Begin a family library of your child's favorite books.

8. Make sure the books are on your child's reading level.
