Apprenticeship programs may satisfy program choice for graduation requirements, provide real world experiences in the industry, earn a salary, and receive a State Skill Certificate from the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation DLLR. Students begin their apprenticeship during their senior year.

Students should also consider any related Career Academies at HaHS or ARL or related courses at Hammond to develop interests and prepare.

Job Description: Under direct supervision is responsible for assisting Journeyman and Master Electricians in laying out, assembling, installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in customer locations, buildings and other structures.

Job Description: The Apprentice position is a gateway to becoming a Junior Technician. This job is a learning position that will give an employee the knowledge in HVAC to advance. The main purpose is to work and learn under the Technicians. In the Apprenticeship, employees will be given all the tools for success in the HVAC industry.

Students participating in the telecommunications (low-voltage) program will have on-the-job training (OJT) in a paid position as a telecommunications technician helper. They will also attend weekly classroom instruction to complete year one of Registered Apprenticeship.

Position: Maintenance/Agronomy Assistant

Related Instruction: 5 hours a week/ online program completed outside of work hours. 2 options available.
Job Description: Students will learn the basics of golf course maintenance. They will learn how to operate and maintain industry equipment which includes the irrigation system. Students will learn the fundamentals of fertilizer and chemical applications and how to calibrate the equipment used to ensure safe and accurate applications. Students will also have exposure to budgeting, staff planning and organization and lead small projects.
Students participating in the Landscape maintenance program will have on-the-job training (OJT) in a paid position as a Landscape Maintenance apprentice.

Eligible languages include Modern Standard Arabic or Arabic dialect, Chinese-Mandarin, Persian-Farsi, Korean, Russian, or Turkish.
Students participating in the Language Analyst program must meet the national standards for the Seal of Biliteracy standards set by the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL). Alternatives to Seal of Biliteracy: Results from ACTFL, National Examination for World Language (NEWL), or Advanced Placement (AP) examinations taken for U.S. college credit, along with letters of recommendation from language teachers or from their STARTALK program instructor.

Job Description:
Student apprentices will:
Gain exposure to various disciplines with language, mission, and cultural knowledge within NSA.
Receive NSA formal and informal training on SIGINT skills and foreign language competencies.
Learn language collection/language processing, (including but not limited to translating, transcribing, gisting, summarizing, and extracting relevant information), research, analysis, and/or disseminating intelligence information derived from foreign language audio or written material.
Aid/conduct collection and SIGINT development efforts by using language analysis to refine and improve tasking to ensure the most effective use of resources. Maintain, use, contribute to, and create mission and language-specific databases and working aids to support mission exploitation and ensure critical knowledge sharing.
Contribute to the development of tools used to process, analyze, and disseminate SIGINT, including foreign language processing tools.
