Sstudents using scroll saws and drill press to create their speakers
This year, 6th grade had the opportunity to make a wooden speaker for their smartphones. Students were responsible for designing and constructing their speakers using the Engineering Design Process. They were given a problem that they defined in order to come up with a solution that allowed them to listen to music using a speaker that no electronic components.
Seventh and eighth grade students used Code.org to work on a variety of projects from web design, interactive games, app design, physical computing and even Artificial Intelligence. The most popular unit was our interactive animations and game design unit. Students used coding skills like variables, functions, sprite animation, and conditionals to create interactive games that students could play.
