Some sculptures involve a pottery wheel. Others don't, must of the time pottery is like dishes: plates, bowls, cups... But others are like, well pots: vases and other decorative things. Lots, though, are like little animals or plants or honestly, whatever you want.
Techniques
Lots of techniques are to be patient and go slow and practice. And it works. But we can go way more specific.
Shape Starter: The Shape Starter technique is one for early beginners, it involves lots of 3D shapes of all sizes, a few examples are: cone, sphere, cube, cylinder, pyramid, and many more. There are some 3D shapes for clay that you probably haven't heard of before like: snake, egg, disk, teardrop,
Some people would look at this and say, "thats not a sculpture!". But it really is, ballon art is categorized as a sculpture. This sculpture is made out a thin ballon, and made to resemble a mouse. It involves something called "lock twisting" which is a complicated series of twisting and looping.

This piece was made in love of "How to Train Your Dragon, The Hidden World". Also known as the 3rd movie. I love how Toothless meets the Lightfury and falls in love. Then is "released" by Hiccup and goes to the Hidden World. It was also an accident that it turned out to be in the shape of a heart.

This piece was made because- in my opinion- there are not enough sightings of baby foxes. I had the luck to see a den in my backyard, in the forest. There were 4 of them. I named one "Little Windy" because he (I think) was always running like the wind. This was a sculpture of him.

Made in honor of the character from Wing of Fire, Glory. She is my favorite character because she is kind, fierce, and not to mention, became a queen in the process of saving her fellow RainWings. So thats why I made this.

I named this " Never-Before Explored" because you've probably never seen a skeleton of a dragon. Also, no one has ever explored it. So I made it out of curiosity for what it would look like. It took a long time to make because I had to make all the separate pieces and lay them out to dry, then had to connect all them one by one.
