For two hundred years, the White House has stood as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and the American people. Its history, and the history of the nation’s capital, began when President George Washington signed an Act of Congress in December of 1790 declaring that the federal government would reside in a district "not exceeding ten miles square…on the river Potomac." President Washington, together with city planner Pierre L’Enfant, chose the site for the new residence, which is now 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

This is a historical piece representing the Native Americans and their tribe. They are gathering around a fire, we guess to tell stories or cook food that they caught. The cone-shaped houses behind them are called teepees and are built by hand. We believe they owned horses to travel, and they might have had dogs for protection.

This piece is made to show war. Horrid, terrible, nasty war. No one likes war. War is full of hatred. This piece shows it in it's full, ugly colors. Then again, art is never ugly.

This is a picture of soldiers. One isn't quite perfect, and is facing the other way then the others. See if you can find the blue spy too, he is showing only a part of himself. See if you look to the left and find him.
