Marisa Martinez
Marisa Martinez is a highly experienced and devoted educator who is passionate about helping others succeed. She has been serving HCISD since 2019 and has a vast experience in education. Marisa is enthusiastic about developing curriculum, supporting teacher development, and helping current teachers enhance their skills and expertise.
Marisa has worked as an educator for kindergarten through 5th grade. As the Elementary Reading Content Specialist, Marisa is committed to ensuring that every teacher in HCISD receives the support they need to excel in the classroom. Marisa believes in sharing her knowledge and expertise with others, and she is driven by her commitment to her work.
Secondary RLA Content Specialist
Schawn Wreden
Schawn Wreden has served the last 27 years as an educator at Harlingen CISD. Beginning in 2013, she served as the Reading and Language Arts Specialist. She has worked with teachers across the district to develop curriculum, support instruction and identify resources that best serve our students. As the Reading Language Arts Specialist, Schawn is responsible for content-specific professional development based on district data, refinement of curriculum documents, and support of teachers in their classrooms as they deliver instruction.
