JCAS YEAR 2 2023

Year 2

Embracing our diversity when Engaging the Elderly

Leadership workshops

Objectives:

To help students to understand their own personality through the four DISC central traits of dominance, inducement, submission, and compliance and equip them in the areas of:

a) Organisation ability

b) Situational awareness

c) Management skills

Reflections from our students:

From these workshops, I learnt about different personalities, each of their strengths and weaknesses and how to connect with students with these personalities. I also learnt that about my own strengths and weaknesses. People are just different from the others and we have to figure out how to work with people with personalities and backgrounds. I got to have fun with my class doing the activities such as building Formula car. It was an eye-opening experience for me. - Charis Lai, 2M

I learnt that people can have very different views on similar situations. The workshops have been fun as I got to work together with my friends and learn more about each of their personalities. I learnt that being a leader is hard that some people are better leaders than others. There were times when I had to join other students whom I seldom socialise with. I used to question why I had to do so, but looking back, I made new friends. Overall, this was a fun experience! - Charles Jin, 2M
