Self-care means taking an active role in protecting your well-being. Self-care is necessary, self-directed, and intentional. This means that only you can can take of you. And YOU are a lot of moving parts: mental, emotional, physical.
Self-Care means fostering a healthy relationship with yourself, reminds others how to treat you, and affords us the stability in our life we all crave.
Here are self-care concepts I teach your child at school:
Mindfulness means being fully aware of the present moment. Most importantly, it is accepting how you feel about it without judgement.
Self-Compassion is kindness to yourself and meeting your needs of mind, body, and spirit.
Emotional Regulation is the ability to respond to events in a way that is tolerable, flexible, and reduces unnecessary stress in our lives.
Growth Mindset is the belief that our abilities can be developed through effort and persistence. People with a growth mindset have a love of learning and see mistakes as learning opportunities instead of signs of failure.
