Apison Elementary has an electric car racing program. We have 2 racing teams, the Raccoon Racers and the Raccoon Stars. Every year we attend the Chattanooga Green Prix, with races held in the Fall & in the Spring, where we compete against other schools in our class.

Apison earned First Place overall for the 2023-2024 Chattanooga Green Prix Racing Season!
The Chattanooga Green Prix is a free, family-friendly, two-day event where students in grades K-12 race electric vehicles they've designed and built over the school semester. The event is hosted by Volkswagen at their Chattanooga location and powered by EPB. The 2024 event included races for elementary school on Friday and middle and high school on Saturday.Â
