Thiebaud Desserts

Wayne Thiebaud is an American painter who took items from every day life and turned them into beautiful art with the use of bold brushstrokes and bright colors. His compositions were full of pattern and repetition, engaging the viewer with a unique perspective. Thiebaud became famous for his paintings of cakes and desserts because of how realistic he painted them using the thick gestural brushstrokes and strong shadows. People were in awe and felt they could reach out and take a dessert from the paintings.
