Attendance matters!
Attendance is important, not only to achieve the highest academic potential, but many future employers will ask the school for references which will include attendance and punctuality records. Punctuality is an important record of self-discipline and is essential for good time management. Students are expected to be at school in plenty of time and at the classroom by the start of each lesson. If they arrive late at school for any reason, they must report to the Attendance & Inclusion Officer to ensure that their arrival has been noted.
Medical appointments
We expect all medical appointments to be made outside of school hours but if they need to leave school during the day for an urgent appointment, the parent/carer must write a note which should then be presented to the Attendance & Inclusion Officer. A Student Pass will be issued and retained as proof that they are allowed to leave the school premises. To comply with Health and Safety regulations, students sign back in with Reception when returning to school after an appointment.
Illness
If students feel unwell during the school day, inform the teacher who will then direct you to Reception for assistance. If you are too ill to return to lessons, a parent or carer will be contacted to collect you. Students do not make their own arrangements or leave the school without permission.
