One of the biggest highlights of the Bear Cave is the student run cafe, The Bear Cave Cafe.  One Friday a month, the students work together to create a “restaurant” within their transition house.  The students prepare all week to serve lunch for both take out and dine in customers.  The students begin weeks in advance by creating a menu and a flyer.  Orders are tallied up and shopping for all ingredients and supplies begins.  Students are then responsible for preparing all entrees and baking all desserts.  In addition, students train for various positions at the cafe.  There are greeters, wait staff, food prep, cashiers, etc.  It is quite remarkable how the Bear Cave house is transformed into a small cafe!  The community has continued to support the students month after month!
