OER Creation

Mahalo for your interest, commitment, and contributions in creating OER as one way to address equity and affordability for our students. We are working to provide practical programs and tools to support your experience to use, modify, adapt, and produce openly licensed materials. Keep in mind, authoring OER is not limited to just developing textbooks. OER-making encompasses a variety of resources, including your learning modules, ancillary materials, renewable assignments, etc.

While there is much pedagogical value to be found in your individual OER journey, OER creation thrives through the spirit of sharing and leveraging our collective knowledge. We encourage you to get involved in conversations and collaborations at your campus, across the UHCC system, as well as abroad.

In fall 2021 we introduced UHCC OER Office Hours as a learning opportunity to explore OER-related topics in an open, informal synchronous online space. With your participation this year we hope to continue this program as a community of practice focusing on more discussion, Q&As, and networking possibilities to support your OER making. Each session will start with a ten minute topic presentation or resource. Please join the conversation!

During summer 2023, OER Office Hours will be taking a summer break.
