The goal is to use glo germ gel solution to determine the percent of germ coverage on hand after washing for 5, 10, 15, and 20 seconds. These calculations will be provided to the school to educate them on how long we should be washing our hands and how to wash them properly.
Purchase glo germ gel solution and UV black light.
Complete a trial with just the glo germ gel solution on hands at 0 seconds to act as the control group.
Complete three trials of washing hands with soap and water for 5, 10, 15, and 20 seconds.
Take a picture of the hand with the UV light on to show where the germs are located.
Use a photo analyzer app to determine the percent of germ coverage and compile data on a data table.
Educate community on how properly use hand sanitizers, and how to wash your hands properly using the CDC Guidelines to minimize the spread of germs. Use data from glo germ gel experiment to show why it is important to wash your hands properly.
