BC 101: Beginning Coding and Computer Engineering
This Fall 2021, LHES students were introduced to the basics of computer programming and animation through MIT's Scratch Program. Lessons were split into three phases, with each phase emphasizing different topics. At the end of each phase, students were assigned a challenge to showcase what they have learned.
Phase 1: Students were introduced to Scratch and programmed their first animation.
Phase 2: Students built a simple game using loops and coordinates.
Phase 3: Students were able to program the animation to play musical notes.

This Spring 2021, LHES students were taught the basics of computer coding through HTML. Lessons were split into three phases, with each phase emphasizing different topics. At the end of each phase, students were assigned a challenge to showcase what they have learned.
Phase 1: Students were introduced to the overall structure of HTML with the emphasis on creating headers as well as paragraphs.
Phase 2: Students built upon their code by adding images.
Phase 3: Students expanded their knowledge of HTML tags by incorporating different types of lists as well as organizing their code.
