Field Project: Supporting Student Research
On Track Field Project, or FP 404, is the final class of the On Track suite of opportunities offered to participating schools. Through guidance and mentorship, it is hoped that students will learn the foundational research skills which will be of great benefit as they aspire and further their education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) college and career pathways.
This Spring, student mentors met with, provided support resources, and guided students in Ms. Fujie's STEM Capstone Project class as they conducted and completed research for their capstone projects.

This Spring, student mentors returned and were invited to join Ms. Fujie's STEM Capstone Project class. Throughout the later half of this 2022-23 school year, several On Track mentors met with, provided support resources, and guided students as they conducted and completed research for their capstone projects. LHES students were flown to Oahu in order to meet with their mentors in person.

Student mentors from the UH Mānoa Native Hawaiian Science & Engineering Mentorship Program (NHSEMP) were invited to join Ms. Fujie's STEM Capstone Project class. Throughout the second half of this 2020-21 school year, On Track mentors met with, provided support resources, and guided students as they conducted and completed research for their capstone projects. This class was split into the five phases listed below.
