"I enjoyed talking to the students about their project and how to further improve certain aspects of it. We discussed about graduation and preparation for college as well.
I definitely have been able to learn how to communicate better with students whether it be through email or Google Meets. Learning from last year's experience as a mentor, I would say I've learned how to allot time for scheduled meetups and how to properly draft a meeting summary email.
S/o to Paige and Anela K for their graduation in a couple weeks! I know you guys are going to go far and I wish the both of you luck in all your future endeavors!
S/o to Ck! My man! I know sports will definitely carry you far and with senior year on its way, keep studying and pushing through till the end. I hope the camera works now for the deer! ;)"

"It actually was quite fun for me in the beginning part of the weekly meetings. Although always very brief and short, I would often try and talk story a little bit with Lana and Princess and ask about things like the weather on Lanaʻi, their college plans, etc. This semester has been a bit on the busier side for me, so having that short time to just talk and be in the moment was very beneficial and memorable.
Shoutout to Misi for being an amazing advisor and for the constant support and help, to Miss Kelli for being able to attend my first meeting on such late notice, the other mentors for the advice and support, and to Lana and Princess for finishing their projects up like champs and being so patient and understanding!"
"I am so proud of Anela and her diligent work ethic! My favorite moment during my time as a mentor was when I got to hear about Anela’s desire to take action, spread awareness, and provide a feasible solution. I enjoyed our conversations about future plans, college, and possible career paths especially in the midst of the pandemic.
The On Track Program was very accessible where whenever I had a concern or question, I could easily write an email and receive a quick response. I especially want to thank Misi for his consistent enthusiasm toward the mentorship program because it really encouraged us as mentors to embody a similar spirit and attitude.
Amazing job Anela! I know that success and an abundant amount of opportunities loom in your future. Good luck with your Senior Year and thank you for giving me the privilege to be your mentor!"

"I enjoyed meeting with both my mentees and getting to know them during each of our sessions. I did appreciate our communication and how hard they worked on their projects. What really stood out to me was during the meetings I had with the students, it was very straight to the point and helping them through this semester on their projects was very exciting.
I have learned to be more patient and understanding. Having been a mentee and always learning from others, it was nice to be able to give mentoring a chance.
Talia and Criseanne, I thought your projects were great and you guys definitely worked really hard on them."
"I think my favorite moment was being able to speak to the students and understand why they are doing the project. I believe I have improved my brainstorming skills and I am now able to think outside of the box a lot better.
The most important thing in this program is the relationships that you make. Being able to help them, even if it's a little, really makes an impact on both the students and I. Just the positive feedback and attitude really changes how a person or group can work. So having the opportunity to be there and share my positive feedback and encouragement felt great."

"The one-on-one meetings with William where I got to see his project grow and change as he saw what he wanted to do with it and what he wanted his community to get out of it. It was also just fun imparting some of the knowledge I've gained from mentors in the past and really see that growth carry forward into the next generation from mentor to mentee.
This was my first time acting as a mentor, especially to someone who's place I was in just a year ago. I know how to approach guiding someone through a project better now and how to take the goals they have and show them the best path to get there.
By organizing the initial AMA session for us to get to know each other and the LHES students' projects and also by acting as a resource of information when we were stuck and allowing us to grow with each other through our mentor meetings."
"My favorite moment was meeting with my mentee and listening to her explain her project. She showed passion in that moment and that really stuck with me.
I have improved my ability to communicate with an individual who I have a degree of responsibility for. I have also become better at figuring out plans of action and setting schedules.
The On Track program has allowed me to connect with my fellow NHSEMP scholars and get to know the NHSEMP staff better. They have provided me and, I believe, my student, a good support network for the future.
WOOOOO STEPHANIE!!!! Congrats on your project; I know you'll do great things!"
