To reserve SLAB, please follow the instructions on the SLAB page. You can get access to the key code by visiting SLAB during SLAB Monitor hours, posted above. Please note that the maximum allotted time to reserve a SLAB computer is 3 hours.
To reserve KLC, please email laelabs [at] hawaii [dot] edu. Please note that the KLC is only available during KLC Monitor hours, posted above, or during Lab Monitor hours in the LAEbrary, posted above. If you would like to reserve the KLC outside of these hours, your access is pending the availability of a Lab Monitor.
The LAE Labs strives to be accessible for all Lab users for as many hours per week as possible. However, we are not the only resource on campus that you can use! Students and researchers affiliated with UH Mānoa may also consider the following options:
The Center for Language & Technology (CLT) has many media labs and studios in Moore Hall which you can reserve to create audio recordings and podcasts, edit videos, and more. Lab users may be particularly interested in the One Button Studio in Moore Hall, which is equipped to make video and audio recording as user-friendly as possible.
Hamilton Library is a good resource for any students looking for books, equipment, training workshops, and quiet study space. Their current resident Linguistics librarian is Courtney Nomiyama (cnomi [at] hawaii [dot] edu); contact her to schedule an appointment for anything you may need. They also have a Loanable Technology collection, including dSLR cameras, videocameras, GoPros, and waterproof microphones. Equipment can be reserved over the summer by anyone with a valid UH ID.
