The LAE Labs run and support user guides and workshops for Lab users. These guides and workshops introduce new technologies and programs to Lab users and provide opportunities for advanced users to strengthen their skills. Workshops are held during the Fall and Spring semesters in the LAEbrary (Moore 162). User guides are available online and continuously updated as needed.
All Lab users are given access to the user guides and workshop materials (e.g., recordings and handouts) via a Shared Google Drive called "LAEbrary Digital Resources". If you are a Lab user, check your UH-affiliated Google Drive account, under "Shared drives". If you are a lab user but do not have access, please email us at laelabs [at] hawaii [dot] edu to request access.
In the LAEbrary Digital Resources folder, there are four categories of resources:
eProtocols: copies of IRB protocols from past researchers, which you can reference to help you write your own protocol.
LAELabs Equipment & Software User Guides: user guides and tutorials written by LAE Labs GAs to help you get started with software and hardware such as Prolific, Psychopy, PCIbex, Instamic microphones, field recorders, etc.
LAELabs Workshops: recordings and other materials from past workshops (2013-2020)
Tutorials from LING 632 (Laboratory and Quantitative Research Methods): resources related to the course, including tutorials on R, ePrime, Praat scripting, data analysis, experimental design, and more.
Please reach out to us at laelabs [at] hawaii [dot] edu if there are any specific workshops which you would like us to host (for the first time, or a repeat of a past workshop), or if you would like to host a workshop of any kind.
