Equipment Reservations
To reserve equipment through our online system, you must be an active LAE Labs user.
We strongly recommend dropping by the LAEbrary (Moore 162) while a lab monitor is in, so that you can take a look at the equipment in person. Then, a lab monitor can walk you through how to submit your reservation request online. Or, you can submit your request online via the LAE Labs Server.
Other Resources
The LAE Labs strives to have the latest equipment available for check-out. However, we are not the only resource on campus that you can use! Students and researchers affiliated with UH Mānoa may also consider the following options:
The Center for Language & Technology (CLT) has many media labs and studios in Moore Hall which you can reserve to create audio recordings and podcasts, edit videos, and more. They also have a team of professionals available for consultation for help with media and instruction.
Hamilton Library is a good resource for any students looking for books, equipment, training workshops, and quiet study space. Their current resident Linguistics librarian is Courtney Nomiyama (cnomi [at] hawaii [dot] edu); contact her to schedule an appointment for anything you may need. They also have a Loanable Technology collection, including dSLR cameras, videocameras, GoPros, and waterproof microphones. Equipment can be reserved over the summer by anyone with a valid UH ID. Email loantech [at] hawaii [dot] edu for more information.
