SUSTAINABLITY ACTIVITES

Seedlings Pick-Up


Plants will be given out on a first come, first served basis until they are all given away.


Stop by to get a free seedling to take home for your garden or lanai or windowsill. There will be a variety of plants (herbs, food plants, native plants) to choose from and you will receive information on how to care for the plant.

Trash to Treasures Contest (Virtual)


Open to all members of the campus: students, faculty, staff and administrators. Pictures of projects will be displayed on Padlet and prizes given for the best projects (those receiving the most like votes on Padlet) in two categories: student projects and faculty/staff/administrator projects.


Prizes are provided by donations including from Student Life and Development and student leaders.

The Sustainability Committee is sharing links to videos of sustainability hacks and tips to help you live a more sustainable lifestyle.

View these short videos to identify and adopt practices that reduce your consumption of materials and impact on the planet.

Climate Quizzes


Watch the linked video (9 – 10 minutes each) and answer the questions about what you learned on the Google Quiz. Each link takes you to a different video and Google Quiz.



If you do three or more quizzes, you are eligible to receive a Hawaiian Plate Curb-Side Pick Up meal as well as complementary reusable dish and cutlery (donated by Student Government and Student Life and Development).


Meal pick up is at HonCC on Friday, April 22 (see details).


You must fill out an evaluation (linked to the quiz) after completing 3 or more quizzes to register for this give away. You must complete the quizzes and evaluation form no later than 12:00 midnight, Thursday April 21 to be eligible for a Hawaiian Plate pick up and giveaway.
