This research project studies the small scale kinetics/motion of Janus particles composed of a silica sphere coated with a hemispherical cap of platinum catalyst. The first half of the research was dedicated to the study of aggregate behavior of Janus particles, specifically to general simulation modeling in addition to adding an external field. The second half of the research was dedicated to the detailed microscopic study of a solo microswimmer in its aqueous environment and how it self-propels, specifically geared towards future modifications of its shape towards an advanced geometry.
