Post-Grad Opportunities
Not sure what you want to do with your chemistry major? You are not alone. "What can a chemistry major do for me?" is one of the most common questions asked by undergraduate students studying chemistry.
The Chemistry major offers a unique combination of laboratory experience and avenues to follow your intellectual curiosity. An undergraduate chemist will learn to design experiments, acquire data, and draw conclusions from diverse information. After graduation, Haverford College students have pursued graduate work in science and engineering, matriculated into medical school, and pursued their own path.
The major’s in depth training is a unique catalyst (haha!) for a wide range of careers encompassing teaching, business, economics, law, and government service. A major in chemistry does not always mean a life of chemistry, though a major in chemistry does mean a firm base of analytical reasoning that will prepare students for any route they take following their Haverford careers.
