Chemistry at Haverford
A Guide for Students, By Students
A Guide for Students, By Students
Welcome! We're glad you're here.
This website serves as a hub for all information about Haverford Chemistry. From course guides to research opportunities to feedback forums and events, you can find it all here. Curated by members of Haverford's Chemistry Student Group (CSG), a board of students here to take action on your feedback, this site is written for students, by students. Our mission is simple: keeping Chemistry at Haverford accessible and enjoyable for all students, regardless of background or prior experiences in STEM disciplines.
Please note that none of this information is meant to replace or supersede advice from faculty members. In fact, one of the most beneficial parts of being a Haverford Chemistry student is the ability to dialogue and form relationships with professors. In addition to the advice you see posted here, use your professors as a resource! Additionally, resources published on this site --- specifically feedback forms, event updates, and course expectations --- are only accessible by members of the Haverford community. Please do not publish them elsewhere.
We hope this catalog points you towards resources to help you succeed in your time in the Haverford Chemistry Department. If you aren't looking for something specific, navigate through the side bar or click below for resources that might be interesting to you.

IMPORTANT LOCATIONS FOR CHEMISTRY STUDENTS
Whether you are new to the Haverford community or the Chemistry Department itself, we are here to help you navigate not only your time in classes but your walk to them!
Most of the Haverford Chemistry courses take place within the Koshland Integrated Natural Science Center (KINSC). The building is made up of three main subunits important for Chemistry students. The East Wing is the center of many faculty offices, along with General Chemistry Lab, Organic Chemistry Lab, and Advanced Lab facilities. Sharpless and Hilles contain classrooms and auditorium spaces common for Chemistry courses to occur.
Stokes Auditorium is located in Stokes Hall, on the other side of the academic quad from the KINSC. Stokes Hall is also the home of Haverford's Office of Academic Resources, which provides one-on-one peer tutoring for students, free of charge. Haverford Chemistry students frequently take advantage of this resource!
