day 1: we got our list of ten and made partners
day 2: we made our script for the story
day 3: we took our pictures
day 4: our pictures weren't in sync with each other so we were trying to make them in sync
day 5: we continued to take pictures like the previous days
day 6: took more pictures and made more drawings
day 7: my partner was not here and for some reason we didn't have our video so I locked in and got to about 700 photos
day 8: I found out that my partner with not be here for a while so I had to again do the work and I pretty much finished just in time
day 9: worked on video and added sound/sound effects because I exported it yesterday
day 10: for some reason I couldn't figure out how to transport the video to my ipad from my partners
day 11: added my video to my website because I figured out how to send it to myself
it is about being active and actually going outside
Using paper, pencil, and imotion, I created a three minute video about being active because most of the time, I am like the main character in thee story, who sits on their phone and rarely does things when they are at home. I run track and cross country but that's the only active thing I do except in the summer. So, the character being active with a friend shows that when you do things with friends, it can be easier than doing it alone
During this process, I learned that drawing is a lot harder than doing it with Legos. If we had done Legos, I feel like it wouldn't have taken as long as it did, because my partner who was originally doing the drawings kept forgetting their sketchbook so we couldn't draw or take pictures that day and that caused us to be behind by a few days.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I stayed on topic despite how much I wanted to talk to my friends and not do my work.
A challenge I overcame on this project was my partner not being here for a while and I couldn't draw. I was able to do it by finding paper and drawing the best stick figures I could even though my partner who was originally gonna be the drawer wasn't there and I had to do it with minimal days left.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the materials we used. The reason why I would change it is because I wanted to do legos but because he was the only person without a partner and the only other person with a blue ipad, I just went with it and it actually turned out better than expected.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. It ties to this CTE connection because our video can only be viewed through an ipad or computer.
My project connects to careers in animating and cartoons because they have to draw and make individual frames. learning stop motion like this will be good if you want to go down an animating cartoons path.
