Using the Sphero Education app on the i pads, I created two codes one for the mini sphero and one for the sphero bolt because I programmed the sphero mini to just go around the rectangle and the bolt to go through the maze. I used the bolt for the maze because the mini is very shaky and not very precise or accurate.
During this process, I learned how to code a robot. I also learned how to code my sphero to rotate and go the direction I want it to go. Lastly I learned how to change my robot different colors and go different speeds.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to being an Empowered Learner because I had to set personal learning goals for my self. Also, I had to ask questions and learn to complete this project.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how to code the sphero to go in the direction I wanted it to go. I was able to do it by keep trying different things and new ways. Another way I overcame this was asking other people questions.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change from using the shpero mini to the shpero bolt. The reason why I would change it is because the mini doesn't run very smoothly it runs very sloppy and I don't like that. The bolt just runs a lot smoother that is why we used it for the maze.
This project connect to careers in coding. It could connect to this career because you ha to code your robot to go around your shape and a maze so you would have to know how to code. This project could also connect to careers in making video games and other coding jobs.
