Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need an iPad and a Sphero
What is your plan to create in this project?
A maze for my Sphero to go through
What unique qualities will your project have?
I will be timing myself to see how fast I can go through the maze
The progress of my project
Day 1: I test drove Sphero and tried all the different driving options.
Day 2: I tested out different variations of the course, trying to see which design would work better.
Day 3: I scrap my ideas of my obstacle course and sumo game and end up just making a maze for my Sphero to go through. I also inserted pictures of the maze I used.
Day 4: I filmed my Sphero going through the maze.
Day 5: I have to re-shoot the video because I was supposed to program my Sphero going through the maze, and not just drive my Sphero through the maze.
Day 6: I spent most of the day programming my Sphero to go down the correct path.
Day 7: I once aging spent most of my day programming my Sphero to go down the right path.
Day 8: My friend filmed my Sphero going through the maze.
Day 9: I insert the video on to my site.
Below is the maze I found
Using Sphero, I created a maze because I wanted to create a challenge for my Sphero.
During this process, I learned a lot of things about Sphero.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I developed a way for my Sphero to go through the maze.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out what to do with my Sphero at first. I was able to do it by finding a maze someone had created and using it for my project.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the maze. The reason why I would change it is because the maze felt too easy and there weren't that many obstacles.
