MAKEY MAKEY

• Using Makey Makey, I created a controller out of Play-Doh because I can finally rage and I can't break the controller. During this process, I learned how to make a controller. I experimented with play dough buttons and designs to improve.

• During this process, I learned how to use alligator clips. I also learned how to use a MAKEY MAKEY. I learned how to use the EARTH feature on the MAKEY MAKEY also.

• My project ties to the "Empowered Learner" standard because I chose what to make. I am an Empowered Learner because I was able to take charge of my project and design my controller. I learned how to problem-solve with a partner, which made the project more fun.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was Earth connections. I was able to do it by hooking an alligator clip to it, which ensured the connection worked properly. This allowed me to continue building the controller and helped me learn more about circuits.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the game. The reason why I would change it is because I should have experimented with more games. Trying different games could have helped me better understand how the controller works with various inputs.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School because I learned from my mistakes and refined my design. This experience taught me valuable lessons about the engineering process and how to improve my work.

• My project connects to careers in electrical engineering because we experimented and learned how it works. By using Makey Makey, I explored electrical connections and how they function. This project gave me a glimpse into the world of electrical engineering and how it relates to technology.
