Are you working by yourself or in a team? I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project? I will need the plastic for the 3d printer and a 3d printer.
What is your plan to create this project? My plan is to create a cup with a straw attached.
What unique qualities will your project have? It will be a cup with a straw attached to it.
It took me 5 days overall to create this project.
During this project I learned how to use a 3D printer and how to use tinkercad. It took me multiple days to learn how to use tinkercad because I have never used it before and it was difficult to get the measurements correct.
I created this project because it is more environmental friendly. More than 4.4 billion straws end up in the ocean each year, so if we use only 1 straw, that is always connected to the cup, you could use less straws, and less straws will end up in the ocean.
Some problems I ran into while doing this project is when my project was done, it had film covering the straw, so I could not drink out of it.
If I had a chance to change what I did for this project I would make it bigger so I could drink more water.
My project connects to careers in engineer design CTE program at Hastings High School.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I used tinkercad to create a design by doing research about what I should do.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering and design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Computer Programing because i had to design it on a computer.

On day one I began brainstorming my project. I could not figure out what to make so I went onto Tinkercad and messed around learning how to use it. While learning how to use it I thought about what I could make that would be simple yet useful and fun.

On day 2 I decided that I was going to build a cup with a straw attached to you can drink our of the cup without needing to get your own straw.

On day 4 I continued building my design. I finished my design but when I emailed the file to Mr. Renner, my technology teacher, it had some flaws and the straw was too thin, so I had to go back into tinkercad and make some altercations so the straw was thicker.
Day 5- Began Printing

On day 5 I finished my 3D design and emailed the file to Mr. Renner. When he received the file, we began printing my 3D design.

On day 6, The design was finished printing. When I first received my print, it had some extra support on the end of the straw that i had to take off, so I spent about 20 minutes trying to get it off with screw driver.
