7P5 3-D Printing

Using a computer, a 3d printer, and a iPad, I created a can holder and a can opener. I made this because I am tired of my hands getting cold when trying to dink pop. I also made it because I got tired of my nails hurting when I was trying to open the can of pop.

During this process, I learned how to get measurements of things. I hade to do this because I had to made sure that I would fit in the holder. I also had to put the measurements into tinkercad witch was hard to do.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered learner because I had to make copy's of my project and make changes. I also hade to get feedback and change my project so that it would be able to print.

A challenge I overcame on this project was switching from millimeters to inches. I was able to do it by first seeing that my thing was massive but I didn't know how big millimeter where. What I had to do was change it in the setting so I was working with something that I knew how to work with.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of things that I could print. The reason why I would change it is because when we where on tinker cad I had made multiple projects. Also I want to change some of the thing on my projects.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because I had to code my project on the computer than put it into the 3D printer.

My project connects to careers in 3D artist. This is  because they have to create models for industry. They hade to think about what they wanted to create than made it like how I had to think about what to create than create it.
