Here is the Mini Sphero. You can change the light emitting from it while coding.
Here is the video of the Mini Sphero. It is moving in a square around the chair.
For this project, I used the Mini Sphero and Sphero app. In the video, you can see that with these materials I made the Mini Sphero go in a square around the chair. I did this because I am new to the coding in Sphero, and wanted to start with a simple design.
I've learned a lot during this project. I've never used a Sphero or much coding before so this was new to me. During this project I improved my ability to use a Sphero and code and learned how to use them.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to a few standards. One standard I used is Computational Thinker because I had to trust my ideas of how coding works, and execute my idea of what I wanted to do with the Sphero through the coding and testing.
I overcame many challenges in my project. A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to learn the directions. I was able to overcome my challenge by at first testing which degrees went it what directions. I did this by making many test runs.
I would change a few things if given the chance to do this again. One change i would make is change the difficulty of the Sphero. The reason why I would change it is because at first, I was just learning to use the Sphero and I would like to try a higher difficulty or try a different design.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. I believe this because I had to program a Sphero (mini computer). My project connects to a career as a coder because I had to code the Sphero.
